Why we built Naam Jap Counter
Because the name is simple, and keeping up a daily practice should be too.
Naam Jap Counter is made by Spiritual Marg, a Hindi and English home for daily Panchang, aartis, stotras, mantras, the Bhagavad Gita and articles on bhakti and dharma at spiritualmarg.com.
Many of our readers chant every day. They told us the same things again and again: they lose count while travelling, they want to keep a sankalp like 1.25 lakh names, and they want something calm and beautiful, without ads in the way of the mala or an account to sign up for. This site is our answer: a dedicated, distraction-free counter with the feel of a real mala, and a small library of honest guides to support the practice.
What we believe
- The practice belongs to you. Your counts are stored only on your device. We do not collect, sell or even see your chanting data.
- Tradition first. Our guides draw on the scriptures and on the living traditions of the saints. Where traditions differ, we say so, and we encourage readers who have a guru to follow their guru’s instruction.
- No exaggerated promises. Naam jap is a path of devotion, not a quick fix. We do not make medical or financial claims, and we keep claims about benefits to what the tradition itself teaches.
- Free for everyone. The counter is free to use, in English and Hindi, on any device.
Editorial standards
